# Export your data

Export Siit data for reporting or audits: requests, app access, communication, people, services and more, with role-based access, download steps and troubleshooting tips

The Export Data feature in Siit allows you to download your account data for reporting, analysis, or auditing. Your ability to export data depends on your role and permissions. You can export the requests you have access to, along with other elements of your workspace.

#### What you can export

Each tab in Export Data matches one object in your workspace:

**Requests** – the full request table, with requester context, status, priority, SLA dates, tags, channel, inbox, assignee, service and rating.

**App access** – the whole access lifecycle, from submission and approval through provisioning, expiration or deprovisioning, including cycle time and failures.

**Communication** – outbound messages and satisfaction surveys.

**People** – directory data and groups, such as department, team, office and legal entity.

**Services** – catalog items and their configuration metadata.

**Applications** – app inventory and ownership fields.

**Equipment** – device inventory, lifecycle, ownership and key attributes.

**Workflows** – titles, state (Live, Paused, Draft), trigger, category and usage counts.

You only see the objects and fields your role gives you access to, so your list may be shorter than this one.

#### How to Export Data

1. Go to the **Reporting** section and select **Export**.
2. Navigate through the tabs to choose the object you want to export.
3. Apply filters if needed.
4. At the top right corner of the page, click the **download icon** and select your preferred format:
   * **CSV** – Ideal for spreadsheets and data processing.
   * **Excel** – Best for structured reporting.
   * **JSON** – Useful for data manipulation.
5. Click **Download** to confirm.

#### Downloading & Accessing Exports

Once processed, your export will be available for download. The processing time depends on the data size and may take a few seconds or minutes.

#### Troubleshooting & Best Practices

* **File Not Downloading?** Refresh the page and try again.
* **Security Tip:** Handle exported files carefully, especially if they contain sensitive information.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.siit.io/guides/reporting-and-analytics/exports.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
